America's Next Top Model Cycle 5 Finale

Episode 13 Part 2: The Finale

Winner of America's Next Top Model Cycle 5
Nicole Linkletter and Tyra Banks

Final Runway

The Big Reveal

Nik and Nicole then shot a magazine cover with Tyra Banks, photographed by Gilles Bensimon, knowing that the winner's cover would be published in the February 2006 issue of Elle Girl. They then competed in the final runway competition, in which previous Top Model winners Eva Pigford and Naima Mora participated. At the final elimination panel, the judges favored both Nicole's walk and look and Nik's final performances in the Covergirl shoot, and subsequently Nicole Linkletter was selected to be the fifth winner of America's Next Top Model.

Note: Though Nicole's look had a fresher take in the fashion industry, Nik had the most high fashion look. I was rooting for Nik actually, I thought that she had the face that would age longer than Nicole's.

Jayla Rubinelli

Note: This episode was a complete sabotage. Just look at the two photos? I do not think that Bre could be a better model than Jayla period. Seriously I was really disappointed in this episode. This was just too much drama. They should wait for the girls to create a scene, not them creating a scene for the girls. geesh.

Kim Stolz

Note: Sad to see Kim go. She was one of my favorites to win the competition. That said, I hated Bre in this episode. She was stupid and immature. I hate the fact that she lashed out on people after digging her own grave. She made me lose my hope for humanity. She should have gone home.

Note: This was a really fun episode. I enjoyed watching the girls thrown to a loop in this episode. I personally think that Nicole had the best photo in the bunch. Thought she may not seem like she is modelling in this photo, she played the part (Which reminds me, the fake-looking drama of the other girls photos advanced more than Nicole's realistic photo. What does this make the show appear? I thought so too!). This was a non elimination round. No one was asked to leave the house for an elimination but they were asked to pack their bags for a flight to London.

Note: This episode came as a shocker to me. I was so surprised to see a girl with so much potential being sent home. I think that Bre had the weakest photo here. Bre got to stay because of her personality (and I thought this was a talent search? If they wanted actors they should have changed the name of the program to America's Next Top Actress-and-Model-in-one!) I have no qualms with Bre, I just think that this Kayla would do much better should she have been given a chance to progress (or maybe Tyra the producers of the show doesn't want to make the show appear as too racist that's why they decided to have a black girl stay. You think? ).
